SCHOOL VISITS AND OTHER PUBLIC PRESENTATIONS, 1994-=99
by
Evelyn Coleman
* Denotes presentations in Atlanta. These events represent
some of the schools where I've presented, as well as, workshops. My speaking
engagements fill up pretty fast so please let me know as soon as possible that
you're interested in having me speak. You are welcome to contact any school,
library or organization on this list for my references. I look forward to
hearing from you and possibly working with you. There are a few places from 1999
that are not on the list yet. And I'd like to give a special shout out to
Gallaudet Elementary. I also visited Opelika City Schools for a week in 1999. It
was wonderful. I saw all their students from K-6. What a reward for a children's
book author. I also visited my dear friend Kay Wilson at her school in Columbus,
Georgia. If I've visited your school and somehow omitted you,
please contact me and I'll be sure to add you on. The older I get the more I
forget how old I am, and where I've been too. (Smile)
When I visit a place I don't
just read my books. I hug, I smile and laugh. I discuss the need for more love
in the world. And I force people to talk about the things they fear, the
prejudices they have and what prevents them from embracing the entire world. I
believe each person must make an effort to befriend another person that is
totally different from them and become intimate friends. That is the only way we
will truly change the world. Love and peace will prevail!
